Fillers FAQs
What should I do to prepare for a filler injection?
What can I expect during a filler procedure?
At Beauty & Medicine Medspa, the practitioner will have a thorough consultation prior to treatment. We will strategically inject the product into the treatment areas. Treatment time varies for each procedure based on the areas injected.
Do lip injections hurt?
Lip injections can be uncomfortable; however, we apply high-dose prescription-strength topical anesthesia to help the discomfort, free of charge. We also offer a dental block for a small extra fee, which makes the patient much more comfortable during the procedure. It is a total game-changer for clients concerned about discomfort during their treatment.
When will I see the results after my filler treatment?
After your filler treatment, you should notice immediate results, followed by temporary swelling over the next few days. Within two weeks post-treatment, the product settles and you will see your final results.
How long does it take for my lips to heal?
In general, lip filler takes a minimum of two weeks to heal. You can expect to swell and bruise after injections. Typically, the first 5-7 days are the worst of it. It is very important to ice and apply arnica gel or take arnica pellets to help the healing process.
Is there any downtime?
Recovery time for each patient and type of filler injected varies. There is no downtime; however, you should avoid physical activity or applying pressure to the treatment area for two weeks post-treatment.
When should I get injected before a special occasion?
Ideally, injections should be done at least 4-6 weeks prior to any special occasion, or two weeks at the very minimum. This window of time allows for sufficient healing.
What is the difference between Restylane and Juvederm?
Restylane and Juvederm are brands like Pepsi and Coca-Cola. Both are hyaluronic acid gels that work to add volume and plump various areas of the body. We will determine the best filler option for you based on your needs and a thorough assessment during your consultation.
